Post by: selling2u on September 10, 2007, 03:11:41 AM
Hello.... I was directed here for further information about my vase,
so far I have been told it was Bohemian late 1800s , it is 11" tall, I hear there is a UK
collector for Hand Vases,,,maybe they can chime in or someone can direct them to
this post???

Thanks in advance. Steve :hiclp:

Hi Steve,
I'm the hand vase collector but I am in Australia. My article on Hand Vases is on the Glass Museum website now.
This is indeed a Bohemian vase of the 1880s period, a similar design is pictured in the 1880 catalogue of the glass decorating firm Mulhaus (reproduced in the book "Collectible Bohemian Glass 1" by Robert & Deborah Truitt) .They bought glass blanks from a number of Bohemian makers, added the painted decorations & also marketed/exported the items.
It is a very nice vase! If you want to sell it I'd be interested in buying. :)
