Hi, need your advice, could this jug be a design of Helena Tynell? I can't find any similar example :huh:
Height = 27 cm
Thank you!

Hi Coby,
I don't believe this to be a Tynell piece. It is not depicted in Designlasin hintakirja and I haven't come accross it anywhere else either. The base has an Aseda look to it. to me, but I cannot be sure. If I am wrong, I am sure that I will be corrected. ;)
I have seen this piece and was not convinced with the atrribution, so I didn't bid on it.

Definitely not Tyness but Iittala all right. I have a full set of clear tumblers with the same foot and those are "I-lasi" by Sarpaneva - according to the box.
-
Thank you both for your help.
Ivo, so it's quite sure that it concerns a design of Timo Sarpaneva? Up to now I can't find this model in any book or catalogue as a design of Sarpaneva.

according to the box.
Which is potentially a source that could be wrong. But failing other evidence, the description must be probably (or possibly) Sarpaneva. So no, you cannot be quite sure without further corroboration.

Manufacturers do make mistakes in printing designer names, I have had several instances on Scotland's Glass taken from catalogues but corrected by the designers.
Although, as Marcus can attest, even the designers memory can play tricks and two designers confirm producing the same design :D
There is no certainty, everything is in flux.

Not quite sure why you insist that Iittala routinely misattributes their own production but the tumblers are called KIPPIS (Cheers) 2099 and were in production from 1975-1979 - according to the Iittala book.

I wasn't Ivo, just a general remark about the reliability of factory printed materials in general.
Course, in this case you just added a second attribution source... does that name the designer too, or did they have the same box? >:D :angel:
