Post by: david31162 on October 06, 2007, 05:21:58 PM
Is this modern? I cant think of what to search for for this.
Ive seen its like somewhere before?
I bought it with a large lot of 30's to 50's (i know that doesnt mean this has to be of that age).
Any Info welcome.
THANKS

What colour is the inner? Quite a strange piece and the cutting looks less than good but perhaps the piece was unevenly blown.

Puzzling is the way the enamels stop short of the rim, normally the blower would cut off the unenamelled end after transferring to the pontil rod. So with my earlier comments it looks like another studio piece where creativity is of more importance than conforming to a professional finish. Which is not a put down, the end result is striking and an attractive piece of glass. It could have been made anywhere and almost anytime too.

 Thanks for the help Frank,
I'm just trying to identify some of the many pieces of glass ( a car load) I bought last weekend. In order to buy a few pieces I really wanted,I had to buy a ton of fair quality but ultimately unwanted glass. So i'm hoping to id some pieces in order to move them on, hopefully making the other pieces slightly less expensive. I really wish glass was sold in smaller lots. Seven boxes in one lot is a little extreme i thought!!
