Title: Brick Style Vase, Scandinavian? ID = Jiři Zejmon, Sklo Union, Czechoslovakia
Post by: Catisfaction on October 25, 2007, 06:13:25 PM
Morning all, I've been working for a few weeks now to try and ID the maker of this vase and just haven't been able to come up with anything. It probably doesn't help that I'm severely lacking in Scandi books in my library.

I'm guessing it's either Scandinavian Art Glass or a Made in China... but the quality seems way too good for made in china.
It measures 8 3/4" tall, 5" across from corner to corner or 3 5/8" square. The base is ground and polished. I cannot find any kind of mark or siggie on it at all.

Does anyone have any kind of clues?

Thanks in advance

Cat ~ Who hasn't been here in so long she can't remember if she has a Siggie set up or not  :chky:

Thankyou for pointing me in that direction Anne! Certainly looks identical.

I'm having trouble with the ID though as I know nothing about Czech glass than to say hey it's czech glass

Jiři Zejmon, Rudolfova Hut’ 1969, pattern numbers 13261/185 and 13261/220, depending on height.
CLS exhibition 1972, catalogue number 313, illustration number 77.
Regards,
Marcus

Is it ok if I ask for a swift education here?
Jiři Zejmon, Rudolfova Hut’  ~ Designers? Factory names?
`969 is obvious thankfully lol
Pattern Numbers ~ Mine is 8 3/4" tall so which pattern # Would that be?
CLS?
and what catalog would that be that is referred to?

I'm rather excited to actually learn some thing other that just saying it's Czech glass lol. Kinda like when I first learned a Murano designers name hehe

Jiři Zejmon = designer Rudolfova Hut = manufacturer. Yours is pattern number 13261/220 because it's 220 mm tall
