Title: Scandinavian paperweight?
Post by: josordoni on November 03, 2007, 01:24:41 PM
I am sure I have seen part of this mark before - I thought Orrefors or Kosta but can't find anything in Ivo's book.

Can anyone help please?

The engraved mark reads Milropa 76 AW 006 with SE on the opposite side - I've called it Saturn because it reminds me of the planet, and came with a lot of space subject Selkirk and Caithness weights.  There was also a Goran Warff  for Kosta , but that has a totally different kind of mark, so I have presumed this isn't Kosta?

Of course I may be barking up the totally wrong tree....

Thanks!

Googling Milropa brings up a US auction wth 3 x 5 Milropa paperweights and http://hundseder.net/ArtGlass/Ridabock/Ridabock-Bio/ridabock-bio.html (http://hundseder.net/ArtGlass/Ridabock/Ridabock-Bio/ridabock-bio.html) scroll right down. Looks to have been a New York Studio. May be worth contacting Peter Ridabock http://www.ridabockglass.com/content/artists.php (http://www.ridabockglass.com/content/artists.php) scroll to bottom

Aha, looking at the offerings from the US Auction, they have a group of exactly the same shape (for some reason the link isn't working though...)
