Title: glass handles/knobs
Post by: eyebath on November 25, 2007, 03:31:49 PM
Hi
More assorted stuff from that auction...

I have a box of 1 large, 41 medium (though these vary slightly) and 4 small glass knobs with screw thread fixings.

I have had to doctor the photos in various ways to try to get close to the real colour, which is an ever so slightly turquoise mid blue.

Are glass knobs like these common? And what might they have come from - any old chest of drawers? I can imagine they might - with the 4 small dainty ones being a couple of small drawers at the top of a chest - but what about that large one with the long metal piece behind it? What is THAT from?

As ever, all guesses welcome.

Cheers
Andrew
(PS. Sorry today's postings so far are re the more 'practical' stuff - some more decorative stuff to come, along with advertising items. Are people here into glass advertising items?)

Could the long one be a sort of hook for hanging something on, I wonder? Dressing gown perhaps.... I had some longish ceramic ones a while ago for that.

BTW Andrew, if it's glass we are interested! ;D
