I wonder if anyone can help me ID these items? They're nothing special but I like them - they have a typically late 1960s/early 1970s look to them. I have a large jug, a pair of whisky tumblers (one has an old black and gold foil label on which says 'jh Elegance Made in England') and three hi-ball tumblers. I'm assuming that 'Elegance' is the range name but does anyone here have any idea who the 'jh' is that's mentioned on the label? Googling brings up nothing relevant.
Cheers in advance.

Update: I was contacted by a customer some time ago who informed me that they remember these glasses being given away at petrol stations during the 1960s/70s but they couldn't tell me any more about them. Chatting with Marcus last night he mentioned that the Sklo Union glassworks produced machine made drinking glasses and such like items as special promotions to be given away at petrol stations. A little bell rung and I pointed him in the direction of these glasses on my website (the jug and tumblers have now sold) - Marcus thinks there's a chance that these could be SU production from the Hermanova Hut factory. The label is a bit of a mystery however since they state 'Made in England' ... would an importer/distributor have made such a claim about imported glass?

I saw some of these today - the tall slim ones - but they weren't marked at all Pip. Nice-looking tumblers though.

JH Elegance does not appear in the usual sources so probably a factoring agency. Made in England is unlikely to be casual use.
Try design journal archives.

Thanks Anne & Frank - will keep searching.

I found this this (http://www.checksure.biz/company/J.H.+ELEGANCE+TRADING+LIMITED-04978710.htm) but they don't appear in Companies House

Short lived!
Incorporated: 28/11/2003 Dissolved 09/05/2005
Name had not been used since 1983.
I think the label is consistent with such a recent date too.

Christine they do, you have to tick the Dissolved Names box as well and they will show up.
