Title: Dialart
Post by: henry on January 06, 2008, 02:18:30 PM
Does anyone know if Dialart,  (the name apparently inspired by Monart and Vasart) is still being made? It was made at the Dial Glassworks in Stourbridge, the home of Plowden and Thompson, and sold, I believe, under the umbrella of Tudor Crystal which was owned by Plowden's.
The glass was decorated with swirls of colour similar to Ysart glass and I am told it was made by a glassblower who once worked at Vasart.

It is an Ysart style glassware but was directly inspired more by Strathearn than Monart/Vasart as that was where Herbert Dreier worked for many years. He joined P&T circa 2001 and at age 65 it is possible he has retired, or is about to now and perhaps the range discontinued?
