Hi all, hubby bought this Whitefriars dilly duck but it's one of those pale colours that's really hard to work out. I think it's probably either silver or pewter - the photo is a very good representation of the colour - whaddya reckon? TIA
-
my vote is for pewter-both whitefriars sites have colour charts, they might be worth a look. regards Carol
-
Thanks for your reply Carol - I've been studying all the colour charts for a week or so now and my eyes have gone funny from trying to work it out!
-
Right, I may have answered my own question here but I'd appreciate Emmi or one of the other WF enthusiasts to confirm this to me if possible, but I don't think Whitefriars made ANY ducks in pewter, so I'm leaning towards silver again (it's definitely not any of the pale blues, or twilight or ocean green).

Hi Pip, i had the same peoblem with mine, nightmare isnt it, but you could be right with Silver.
-
They were not made in Pewter, so Silver it is! Lucky you BTW, is it going on ebay? Emmi
-
oooooh great! Thanks ever so Emmi and Sue ;D I'm undecided really about what to do with it - I'll probably sling it on eBay (only because I'm unsure what price I'd ask for it on my site - silver ducks are quite rare aren't they?)

WF Ducks all seem to do well on ebay Pip - only the red ones make sort of ordinary money, but the other colours seem very popular.
-
Yes, cheers for that Lynne however Silver was only in production for a couple of years in the early 1970s so is much harder to find than most of the other colours (apart from Sky Blue).
-
well, of course, if you had a sky blue one, you would be well on your way in the Modern House fund.... ;D ;D
-
Hi, Then of course we must not forget Nic's find from a jumble sale.......... TANGERINE :hiclp:
You can't get any rarer than that.
Patrick.
-
Well done Nic (although I'm not trying to start a rarity competition - I just wanted some info on silver ducks!)
-
Oh go on... start a nice "my one is bigger than yours" session....:chky:
-
LOL - no!
-
Hi, Here we go with ' Mine is bigger than yours '
The large duck is 7 5/8" high and is the father of a family of ducks made by Ronnie Wilkinson. I do know of a monster 8 1/2" version in TANGERINE.
The baby duck is 2 3/4" and has no bubbles.
