-
Sorry the unsigned one is the green one ::) this one is signed
-
Wow! Not often one gets so lucky! I particularly like the Charles and Diana sulphide.
-
Thanks, but why would it be marked Sample?? in such lovely handwriting??
BTW, all the weights come from a shop closing down and these were part of the owners own collection, the shop sold..........Top grade porcelain and glass, he is retireing to Spain.
Oh yes, he is a neighbour!! ;D

There seem to be a couple of samples for that particular occasion! Often ideas would be made but rejected for production, hence sample. Considering what the limited edition fetches this would probably do quite well... even though it is not signed as Jack Allan http://www.scotlandsglass.co.uk/cms/index.php?page=shop.product_details&category_id=21&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=2704&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=51&vmcchk=1

Thank you Frank :-* would you like to see the "sample" signature ?
Oh and if you want photo's of any of them just let me know
-
The sulphide is now on ebay, with a picture os the signature.
-
Sue, did you pay individual prices or just one amount for the lot?
If individual, would you mind telling me so I can reference the prices please? :)
I don't think we can PM here, my email is sabeanqueen at gmail dot com :)

Last October boballets1 offered (and sold) quite a few "samples" of 1981 Caithness weights:
Jester / Polka / Coquette / Ship's Wheel / Regency Stripe / Amethyst Lace / Heart / Initial / and one without the name etched on the weight (like for the others) - which the seller thought to be a Parasol (which was quite different from the Parasol on my shelf, however).
These were bought "from the estate of a life long collector" - possibly the seller can tell us more about the history of these "samples"?
Best regards - Wolf
