Title: Scan or Italian? Modernist ID Help Please?

Hi, I am wondering if anyone out there can give me some ideas as to who the artist may be on this piece? I picked up at a flea market this morning. It measures about 3.75 inches tall and weighs about 2.5 pounds. Thanks in advance,
