Title: Unusual figural glass candleholders

I was pointed in this direction from another forum. For 6 yrs I've been trying to solve the mystery of the Aunt Jemima candlestick holders (as they've been nicknamed).  6 yrs ago I came across a clear glass pair of these candlestick holders in an antique store. Over my travels the past 6 yrs I've obtained an additional 2 of these at different antique stores.  One in a blue glass and the second in an amber glass. They are quite heavy with an open bottom. They are hollow from just under her collar down. They appear to be pressed glass and have three seam lines each. The front section is one piece and the back is in two sections. They stand 8 ¼"� high and are 4"� at the base. She has a bow on the back of her head that has two tails that trail down her back to the bottom. To me they have always looked Eastern European.  Anyone have ANY idea who might have made these and when??

Here's a close up view. It gives a little better detail. The tails from the bow on the back of her head are solid.

Hi,
I got an interesting response on another forum about the figural candleholders. A member there said he had seen them before. A friends parents brought back a pair of these from Romania in the 1950's and had said they were her mothers who had them since the 1940's. I have been trying to find Eastern European manufacturers from around that time that were perhaps specializing in this type of glassware but nothing yet. Any ideas?

Thanks Sue C and Anne!! Well at least I have a good starting place to start looking into those candleholders a little further :)
