It's a fantastic resource, I love the way that they have broken items as well as perfect.

next time i drop something, i will put bits in an envelope and send them to the Museum ;D

Seriously, from my years of watching Tony Robinson and beardy mates on Time Team, they date
broken bits of pots and glass from the stuff found with it, coins and already documented items,
so i expect these bits have come from such places.

Thanks, Marcus!  Boy, Whitefriars did some fabulous engraving!  You can see the Venetian influence in some of their pieces, something I hadn't really appreciated about English glass. 

This is yet another reminder of how narrow my glass education has been.  There's just so much to learn - too much, it sometimes seems.  It's daunting.
