Hi Debbie,
Just going by the photo, the rim looks a bit bottle like/factory produced,
but more photos may help, rim / base/ are there any mould lines?
Regards Andy

I believe it was made by Jackson Brothers, Knottingley: date, post WW2. I have a smoke iridised example and I have seen several others in different colours, all lightly iridised (one of which - I seem to recall - had talcum powder inside and was labelled accordingly). Mine has JBK entwined, moulded on the base and a Reg No which appears to be 905918.
(Item referenced in "A Century of Carnival Glass").

and no there are no mould marks on it

It was blow-moulded (blown into a mould rather than pressed moulded using a plunger).

I don't think you will be able to find any "on-line" illustrations of it. I wrote about it in "A Century of Carnival Glass" but as it was border-line Carnival, we didn't think that a photo in the book was justifiable.

If I get the chance, I will take a photo sometime and put it on my website. Meanwhile, I assure you that I have the twin to your item. It is identical, except mine is smoky coloured and iridised. Mine also has the moulded markings on the base that I have explained above. And I have seen and handled other examples (as I mentioned above).

Link works now, Debbie. The dot net had vanished from the end of the thread (gremlins?) But I haven't written anything about that item on my website....yet. I'll try and do it sometime but it won't be for a few months.
