Title: Anyone know anything about glass ewers? Powell?
Post by: wesley on January 31, 2008, 10:15:16 PM
Is anybody able to give me any more information about this old glass ewer I have? It measures 10 1/2 inches in height and is decorated with glass nobbles (the white around them is dust... oops get the dust out!) and has a pattern in the glass itself. It has been hand blown and finished off very nicely. There is some wear to the foot of the piece which tended to make me think that it was from the turn of the century. Powell maybe?

Kind regards,

Wes

Agree it is not likely to be Powell, but is is likely to be 1920-30s, a lot of reproduction glassware made in that period and Powell tended to be quite delicate. A lot of UK factories made it, however the foot is not very English.
