Title: Another mystery - a three faces sulphide
Post by: alexander on February 18, 2008, 02:38:05 PM
This one came from Belgium, a little over 2" wide, a flat polished base, yellow 'pillar' in the
centre, controlled bubbles.

It also has three different sulphide profile heads, ancient greek or roman looking women.

I think it's a very nice sulphide but I'm at a loss as far as identifying it's origins.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Interesting :)

In Greek mythology they were known as Charites, the romans called the Gratiae and now they re known as The Three Graces.(info from Wikipedia)

I think you're on to something as far as the ladies, now only maker remains  :)

Could the yellow core with those bubbles provide a clue?

Thanks  :)
