Title: posy or salt?
Post by: MarieW on February 20, 2008, 06:32:12 PM
Hello I'm new I was told about this site from a man named David who suggested I post my question on here, I bought what I was told was a posie holder about 10 years ago, but I think it's too small for that, I thought it might be a salt but I'm not sure, it's 2.5 inches tall, has anyone got the answer please.

Hi Marie and welcome. I've tweaked your photo slightly to make it slightly smaller and easier for people to view.

A toothpick holder? Is it cut glass or pressed glass?

It's cut glass, and quite heavy.

Yes, could be a toothpick Christine - BTW, it was me who directed Marie to the GMB (from http://forum.birminghamhistory.co.uk)

I think you are right, as it is too small to be a posy holder, and dosen't seem wide enough to be a salt, I have a couple more mystery objects, so I will post these later on, if you don't mind me picking your brains, and thank you again, and thank you to david for directing me here.
