Just picked up a couple of vases at local auction, this nicely cut crystal vase intrigues me,
possibly Bohemian, although i wonder if it may be 1930s Val St Lambert, Graffart??
Does the intricate pattern on the vase look familiar to anyone?
Cheers

German?

Hi Sue,
why German? any suggestions to maker?
I did contact Mark West who can tell a piece of VSL from 100 yards, sadly not a piece by them :(
Any other ideas
Cheers

I was in Germany when the wall came down, a few month's later we crossed over to the East, there was very little food in the shop's but lots of crystal, i bought a vase and six goblet's, the vase has the same intricate cutting as on your's.
I will try to get some photo's of the cutting for you.

some pic's of my vase for comparison.
And one of the goblet's jus because i like it ;D

Thanks very much Sue,
that was quick!
that part of the pattern is indeed very similar
I think mine has more age to it, and may well be deco period, but i think it probably
is Eastern Europe/Bohemian

Andy, why do you think your vase has more age to it? not being rude! just like to know?
-
Hi Sue,
several things, mainly its got some good genuine age wear to the base, and also sadly there are at least
half a dozen nicks ,dings, and fleabites :'( .some rust marks inside , and also i feel it has a 'deco'
feel to the shape, maybe a sort of a 20s 30s Lalique shape. and mens intuition :D
