Title: Peloton vase - European?

I assume that with a ground and polished pontil this peloton vase is European and newer.  I hope the Asians are not taking this much time in producing glass.  Am I correct?  Thanks for looking.

Don't feel too much - only $10 worth of pain.  Now I have learned to watch for something else.

Threaded, but not strictly Peloton.  Personally, I didn't think Chinese when I saw that polished out pontil .....  :-\

Definitely not peloton.
As Leni said, it's threaded/trailed. Peloton is made up of short broken threads placed at random on an item, not long, continuous threads trailed around the item.
As for origin, no idea I'm afraid but it looks very new.
Interestingly, peloton glass (in the strict sense of short, randomly applied, multicoloured, broken threads) has been reproduced fairly recently in Thailand. Some attractive, tall clear vases with brightly coloured threads were being sold in upmarket department stores in Sydney during 2003. I purchased one as I found it an interesting modern version of the peloton theme. It has a label that states that it was made in Thailand.
