Can anyone shed some light re. the origin of this heavy bowl from Murano. Heavy clear glass with a soft greenish tint throughout and a thick red band across. I have seen some Cenedese bowls with this type of work but not in this spherical shape. Label is blue text on silver - MURANO GLASS MADE IN ITALY. Many thanks. Carlo

Ooooo...I like it. A photo of the label would help a lot. It sounds like it might be a Fratelli Toso label. Bowls in this shape are often called geode bowls, so that may help in your searches.

Oh sorry, blue text on silver...The F. Toso label is silver text on blue. Does your label have a swirly sun type shape on it? If so, it's probably a import label which was use for many different glass houses, and I have seen it on Cenedese glass. Stylistically, it seems to fit. Does your bowl glow under a black light?

Hello and thank you for your prompt feedback.
I actually had uploaded the label to the Murano labels albums. Here it is:

the label looks like one on a cenedese bowl that i've got http://www.glasscache.com/GC_ProdPage.asp?pid=1568&sid=7 (http://www.glasscache.com/GC_ProdPage.asp?pid=1568&sid=7) i've also seen a bowl similar to yours, bigger i think, attributed to cenedese here http://www.trocadero.com/moltabellaglass/items/594190/item594190.html (http://www.trocadero.com/moltabellaglass/items/594190/item594190.html)
