    Dont know how to start to explain this paper weight, so think will let the photo do the talking, for me, sorry,

Modern Chinese. This one is nicer than the others I have seen in this style. I like the bits of color in the white petals.

                            is there a name for these paperweights, such as twirl or iris flower? aside from just Chinese modern

I don't know of a precise term. Abstract flower or perhaps pinwheel?
