Title: Bark effect
Post by: Gilead on March 05, 2008, 04:00:53 PM
Hi members
While out today i bought several item's mainly paperweights but managed to get hold of 3 vases, this one is of a bark effect clear in apperance but when the light catches it, there is a hint of light brown but could also be lime, looking from the top down it is on every ledge as i would say, it stands 8 1/4ins high is o oval shape due to it's bark effect, any idea what sort of vase this is please,
                                                                                                                                                        Steve

I think these are Ravenhead and date from the 70s.

Hi Steve,
"Royal castle Royal Bohemia"
The second of these never existed......http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,746.0.html  :)
Certainly not Sklo Union, and as Steven suggests... Ravenhead, is the likely candidate...
Regards,
Marcus

As Marcus says, most likely Ravenhead, Steve. Read this earlier topic by vidfletch to find out more about them: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,5227.0.html

Steve, there's no need to call you silly; I have to confess I quite like these too, particularly the examples I've seen in blue glass. There is also the advantage that you can use them without worrying too much. ;)
