i got this bud vase thinking it was whitefriars due to the ground / polished pontil mark, but i can not find anything about it , the vase measures 9.5" high and cranberry in colour

I think I have seen one like it for sale on ebay before, but never in the flesh. I'll see if I can find anything more about it. Definitely not Whitefriars though, but Ray already knows that! I do like it!
I try to stick to the ones with bubbles in really, but I just can' t resist........ :lol: you know what I mean!

yep thats the one, but my base is more egg shaped and 7" high

Do you know for sure it is Strathern? I haven't seen anything documented, but then I have never found anything documented about my bud vases :( :( (with the exception of Whitefriars). I suppose they weren't important enough. Just cheap and cheerful bread and butter pieces. Hey but who cares! I've had loads of fun collecting them, and even more fun trying to identify them. :lol: :lol:

Sorry I didn't make myself clear in the last post. By documented I meant by the company themselves..catalogues for example or old price lists.
