Title: Is this a Webb mark..and if so, which one?
Post by: selina on March 12, 2008, 09:29:42 AM
Hi,

I got this little vase / glass. I thought it had the Webb mark on the base. Looking at it once I got it home and comparing with marks online, its a cross between two of the marks. There is definitely no England anywhere...but the last trailing doesnt seem to go under the name far enough, if you can understand what I mean. Any thoughts?

Selina

It looks to me like the mark for 1906-1935 .courtesy of Ivo Haanstras Little book.

Thanks, the marks look different online. My glass mark only trails to under the first b. The online mark for that period trails back to the W. Thats what confused me. Mine looked like the later dated mark, minus the England.

I agree with JP - the pre-1935 mark - 'England' and 'Made in England' were used after this date. I have actually detailed them on one of my sites:
