The only reason I bought these, was for curiosity reasons only (honestly ;) ) because the bases are iridescent. I won't tell you what I really think about the other bits, its unprintable ::)
I'm presuming they're some kind of air-wick type thing, as they have a long wick down into the bottles and there are slits around the plastic tops. One of the "shades" is glass, and curiously, the other is made of plastic. The one with the glass "shade" has KW-2 impressed on the base.
Does anyone know anything about these please, before they go back where they came from.
TIA :)

I'd like to see more details of the wick assembly. My first thought was that these were oil lamps rather than air fresheners as I've seen similar small lamps before, though if the tops are plastic this can't be the case.
No idea of maker though I'm afraid.

Anne — I think they are wonderful. They remind me of all those mysteries of my youth, like plaster flying ducks, Blackpool rock, fondue sets, Matt Monro, BO, onyx cigar lighters, Des O'Connor, Goblin Teasmaids, Butlin's, and trouser presses.

I'm fairly sure they're "Avon" (as in the cosmetic company), Anne. I used to have an iridescent opaque white one with a matching top, just like yours. "Avon" did make several iridised perfume bottles and similar novelties.

They turn up in white around here too at boot sales

You forgot to mention Val Doonican and poodle toilet roll holders (not that there's a connection there) ;D
Thanks folks! I don't know why I didn't think of Avon Glen ::)
I think I'd prefer them in white Christine. These look a little funereal and I can just imagine them in an undertaker's premises. ;D
