Is this pressed glass candlestick familiar to anyone? It is Italian (clue: Made in Italy pressed into the bottom). Colour is a very slightly peachy pink. Made in a 2 part mould, the shade is decorated with what might (or might not) be carnations. About 44cm high in all, of which 29cm is the base. The shade fits into the base, the bit that joins the two together is missing. Possibly a cork or similar: there is a small peg moulded into the bottom of the shade that is obviously meant to fit into something. There is no hole in the 12cm wide base of the base, if you see what I mean, which would be expected in an electric lamp. The glass is satin finished inside & out on the shade & outside only on the base. Maximum diameter of the shade is 12.5cm

To my eye they look like a marriage - the colour doesn't seem quite right. Can we see the bits separately and side by side please

I have a feeling that my husband's father and late mother have the same (or at least a very similar) item. I'm sure I have seen it at their home. I'll take a look when I get the chance (next month).

Thank you, both. I will photograph them together asap. They are on top of each other in the 2nd pic! Marital relations aside, I'd still be very interested to know more about the shade, in particular, which is beautifully floral. Even if not Italian!
