If Suzi's thread is going to attract the bird fanciers, I thought we kill a few more with one stone.........Any that we can identify will be sent to live in the Zoo!

1. purple and yellow bird: not a clue.
2. Two ducks and a dove: the base just screams Chinese
3. Hollow speckled: I have an identical one in yellow and have not been able to place it. My current thought is that it is from Lafiore in Majorca. They seem to be big on birds. In any case it is not from current production, mine is at least 15 years old.
4. Amber swan: throw it out, it's hideous!

Cat 2. Two ducks and a dove are Murano, I've seen labelled ones with that base. The righthand duck almost certainly contains uranium glass, not a feature of Chinese glass

Hi, I have no idea who it is but I have one of the purple and yellow jobs as well. Looks exactly the same as yours.

Yes it does......I didn't have a test light at the time I posted......but I've checked and it glows more than any other uranium glass I have. I didn't keep the doves as I wasn't mad about them, but the other 2 are really nicely made and look great on the windowsill.
Thanks for the info

Hi catshome :hi: another positive ID for you....the first one, purple and yellow, is Chinese. It would have had an oval Made in China label on it, and I have lots of them in all sorts of colourways, including 2 like yours. I had a thread running here a few weeks ago about them....I'll see if I can find it again
Just found one of the links to a thread I started here....

Hollow speckled has meanwhile been identified as Boda.
