Title: To ID a Cranberry Vase with Symbol.
Post by: turnip45 on April 03, 2008, 08:14:27 PM
The vase stands 23 cm's tall & 12 cm's wide.  The pattern swirls to the right and the vase has two tiny insignificant bubbles.  Looking at the base pictures, there is an intriguing symbol, which looks has though it's been pressed into the glass where the pontil would show.  The vase weights 1438 grams and the glass is very thick and substantial.  I have tried to capture the true colour however, the images do tend to make the vase look too red as opposed to a more mellow cranberry shade.  Does anyone have any ideas of ID and age?  Thanks B

the funky mark on the bottom is just an impression left by the end of punty rod when it was cracked off...
