Did you see this?

Funnily enough, Heidi and I were talking to Roger Dodsworth (Broadfield House) about this very vase the other week - apparently it was a bit rich for them, but they managed to secure something similar a few years ago.
-
I have one in the downstairs loo (well I might have, if I had a downstairs loo). I don't like it. Why spoil all that fabulous engraving with big, chunky frilly stuff >:(
-
Hi, I bet this seller had to sit down after he phoned the Auction House to see how his sale went !!!!!
Check this sale.......... Estimate 2000 to 3000 it made a staggering 64,000 pounds

That's the same one Andy was talking about in the OP.
Fabulous engraving! But why call it a vase?!
-
I would call that a covered pokal.
-
Maybe it's a bit big for a pokal. It's 23" (58 cm).
The other vase they mention, Bohm's first one with this engraving, is shown and discussed in Hajdamach, pg. 157 - "Bohm's Masterpiece."
-
Yeah, I should have looked at the measurements closer - almost two feet tall is a little on the big side. :)
