Title: St Louis or Murano?
Post by: tropdevin on April 07, 2008, 06:12:53 AM
I came across this paperweight (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=2&campid=5335820906&toolid=10001&customid=&ext=180231005903&item=180231005903) on ebay, and whilst it has many attributes of modern St Louis, it looks a bit clumsy. A modest original or good copy?

I see why you're having doubts.

Quite frankly my take on SL millefiori is that they are usually very well executed, the pictures
are too fuzzy to say anything for sure tho.

It appears the weight is a bit large for the box, I wouldn't be surprised if it did not come in that box originally.

Maybe St. Mande or VSL?

I can't quite tell form the pictures if the facets are flat or concave.

It's gotten quite expensive too. I have a Baccarat yellow overlay, and I'm wondering: why are the windows concave?  Or rather, why is that used as an identifying characteristic - is it more difficult to accomplish?
