Title: Fratelli Toso? ID needed--thanks!

Can you tell me anything about this piece?  Maker, date, what this pattern is called, the specks of gold, etc.?  Curious.  Someone said Fratelli Toso Murano glass from the 50s-60s, but that’s just one person’s opinion.  Any additional info. would be appreciated—I’ve taken 2 pictures—one with and one without the flash.

Hi, what is the back like? i suspect generic Murano, here is mine, you can find a clearer picture of the lable in Murano 101

Brighteyes, the person who said your bowl was Fratelli Toso was right. I don't know exactly what year the design was made, but it looks like it would be a 60s design. It is a nice bowl.

As long as the owner of this gallery is correct, then I guess mine "is" a Fratelli Toso.  I like my coloration better, though.  The aqua green color of mine reminds me of the water I saw when I was in the middle Keys below Florida.  Anyway, due to that color, I'm guessing late 50s to early 60s.

I'd be careful of taking attributions from that particular dealer - they sell on eBay with many many pieces advertised as Holmegaard that clearly aren't. And they don't respond to emails that tell them otherwise.

In this case the attribution is correct. The bowl is documented in blue on page 166 of Leslie Pina's Fratelli Toso. Pina writes that the bowls on the page were designed by Ermanno Toso in the 1950-60s. F'lli Toso did a good many bowls in this design, using various colors. They are heavy and have a base like the one Brighteyes showed.

I checked the F'lli Toso bowls in the link. There is only one that I had serious doubts about. Attributing art glass can be a challenge and probably we all make mistakes. I know I have made quite a few. Many of them are setting on my mistakes shelf.

I looked again at the bowls in the link provided and have to correct myself. There are two I have serious doubts about.  :-\

haha, Anita, i have one of those too; rather too sizable :spls2: good thing i usually only buy what i like so i don't mind having to look at my blunders every day ;)
