Title: Ruffle rimmed bowl...
Post by: Martyn K on April 18, 2008, 03:12:34 PM
A long shot but thought someone may be able to ID the maker of this bowl since it has a couple of distintive features...

28cm (11in) diameter, casing has a peachy tint, no pontil mark but a dip in the middle of the base that I'm guessing was meant to look like one. Plenty of base wear around the edge.

Thanks for any ideas.

[sorry the pics are a bit blurry - no sun today]

Looks remarkably like a Vasart shape (B020 (http://www.ysartglass.com/Vascat/VasB001.htm)) but base is not right, nor number of waves. So Scotland, even Strathearn, is not impossible but so could several other countries.

Thanks Frank, I had a look though the catalogues on your site and could'nt see it so had ruled out a Ysart connection.... I just need to change the number of waves, fiddle with the base and add a Vasart mark now!  ;)
