The base is acid etched i think, it says Tchecoslovaquie , I am wondering how old it is. thank you

Hi Cazza,
This normally indicates that the export market was France, and its colonies. Date for the mark would be 1919-1938, though it was used for a short period after WWII.

Marcus

Looks slightly strechted carnival to me?
-
I believe this shape was popular in the 1930s.
-
Looks stretched to me, too. You'd think that would narrow it down some.
-
sorry i am not sure what you mean its just a photo not done anything to it at all.? Is this better.

Hi Carol, please read here what Glen contributed regarding stretch glass :hiclp:

Now, as several contributors agree, Carol's vase could be stretched glass...who else please could contribute besides GLEN ? Glen please!

I know this is about a year too late, but does this piece have a ground and polished pontil mark? If so, it's probably Poschinger... they did a lot of stretch glass, and this color is pretty typical of them.

It would help to see the Tchecoslovaquie mark. I don't think Poschinger would have a Czech mark on their vases. There are a couple of good candidates for the vase. Seeing the mark could rule out one of them right away. But it has been a long time.

Without seeing the mark underside it is difficult to say, but an acid etched straight mark Tchecoslovaquie, combined with the shape would tend to make me lean towards Deco era Kralik. Would love to see the mark underside if that is possible.
I agree with Anita, as it would be unlikely that a Bavarian based company would place that mark.
