Title: Two Whitefriars vases & one is it?
Post by: Tigerchips on May 01, 2008, 11:16:39 AM
1) Is this a Whitefriars vase (pat 858 or 914) or some other company perhaps? Just over 10 inches high.

2) Whitefriars ribbon trailed vase, green with blue trails, pat no 8886. It doesn't seem to be common with these colours. Was the colour combination difficult to work with? It's just over 7 inches high.

3) Whitefriars ruby red Molar vase,  pat no 9411.

Hi.  Can't help with No.1 - I find these difficult to ID from photos...but it could be. John P.is more likely to know,.

No.2  is 9030  made in 7" and 11" heights -colour combo is not unusual, more the norm really

No.3 is 9411 if it is 7" tall or 9410 if 5.5"

Thanks, yes, number 2 is 9030, I must have wrote the wrong number down.  :-[

Oops, I forgot to mention that no 1 has a small polished pontil.

The first one, usually one look and you think Stourbridge W/Fs lookalike but some of  these are so difficult without close inspection i would put yours in that category the foot looks a bit plain, is it dead flat or slightly domed.
its a bit like a woman nice to see in the flesh and hold for a while. nahhh too old for that, well almost.
spellcheck tells me ST OURBRIDGE NOT STOURBRIDGE :chky:
