Haven't a clue what it is, but just had to buy it.
Its 5.5" long and weighs 250g.   Does anyone know what it is? :?

Just off to pump glass

Definitely a knife rest!

We had beautiful cut-glass ones which belonged to my grandmother, when I was a child

After my grandmother died, my mother threw them away - yes, that's right, *threw them away* - because they were "something else to wash up"   :x

Hello,
Leni, my Mother did the same thing!  Isn't that wierd?  Well, maybe just a co-incidence, but ever since then, I have wanted a knife rest.

Anne, " A dumb bell for vertically challenged glassies"  Now, that's too funny!

Doh!  I should have known, having seen ceramic ones in the past - but never a glass one   I need to brush up on my dining etiquette and  will use it to rest my knife on before eating my peas   How posh is that!

Thanks Ivo, and Glen for the link.

Leni and Linda -  What a shame, but I guess if we kept everything - we'd need to live in a warehouse!
