Title: Steuben engraved vase
Post by: deco.queen on May 05, 2008, 06:06:34 PM
The shape of this vase is shown on a page of a 1932 catalog item #7307 in the back of American Art Nouveau Glass by Albert Revi.  I'm thinking it's the same type vase.  6 1/2" tall

You got that one!  Good, I'm glad it went to someone I know!  I was following it, and nearly bid - in fact, once it was over I think I was cursing myself for not having bid!  I'm glad you got it.

I have Gardner's book with all the Steuben line drawings from the library right now.  Interestingly, the line number isn't shown with the other vases, but it is shown in a separate catalog section where a bunch of decorations are illustrated.  The one there is wider, but same vase, and the engraving on it happens to be the same: "ENGRAVED."  All the others shown have a name ("Decoration - RENWICK"), but this one is simply, "Decoration - ENGRAVED."

Nice find!
