Title: Who made this IDRIS water jug? - ID = Rindskopf

Moulded in base: Idris Ltd Brit Reg No 770251

Stylish and very smoothly finished 4-part mould with hand formed and applied handle. Stands approx 6-in tall.

I know about Idris Ginger Beer and the Reg No is for 1932. I imagine it is a water jug for pub use, but there is no overt advertising.

Roy, Idris did mineral water and cordials as well as the ginger beer they are known for later. I have a different pattern jug with an IDRIS registration number - see http://yobunny.org.uk/gallery1/displayimage.php?pos=-195 and I found a match for it in the Rindskopf catalogue pk-2004-1w-03-mb-rindskopf-1936.pdf on http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/archiv/musterbuch-de.htm

In the illustration on page 5 of that catalogue your jug is sat alongside mine in the Verpackungskrüge section, so I think we could say with some confidence yours could be Rindskopf too. :)

Thanks for that, Anne.  :hiclp: I will certainly accept Rindskopf. What a wonderful world of research there is here :D.

I can always easily look up registered dates ... I can even translate the diamond lozenges if I need to, but I am darned if I can find any easy references to WHO registered the item. :( - unless, of course, the name is helpfully included, as on this jug.  ::)

Now to work out which category to list it under on eBay  >:D

The photo of The Idris & Co. RD 770251 jug seem to have disappeared from the first post so I’m adding one here as a permanent reference.

By the way, there was a well-known television jingle adveristing Idris lemonade from the early days of commercial television (1960s?) that went:

“I drink Idris when I’s dri,
Idris is the drink to buy,
I drink Idris, I drink Idris,
Idris when I’s dri.”
