The last post of pics is a vase i picked up yesterday on a 2530  plinth, it fits perfectly but don't know if it is a marriage or not. Would appreciate any info especially on the vase, being such a nice colour i think it is rubine, the frog is moulded into the base. more twist to the tale lol.

Mark — Your little posy vase is a Davidson M.T.1, launched by Davidson in 1961, possibly from an old Matthew Turnbull mould, which may explain the strange pattern number.   See here (http://www.cloudglass.com/Gallerypostwar.htm) for more details.   As you will see it optionally came with a Davidson 312 plinth, not the Sowerby 2530, so definitely a marriage.   Don't be too hasty to condemn your supplier as I am sure that at the time both wholesalers and retailers would have done likewise to make any odds and ends saleable.

We're still no further in working out what the 2530 was designed for, see here (http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,21029.msg120184.html#msg120184).

THANKS FOR THE HELP BERNARD I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE DAVIDSON MYSELF ITS THE SAME SIZE IN HEIGHT BUT THE OPENING IS ONLY 3 5/8" AT ITS WIDEST. PLUS THE FROG FLOWER HOLDER IS MOULDED INTO THE VASE ITSELF MAKING IT PART OF THE VASE NOT DETACHABLE LIKE OTHER EXAMPLES I HAVE SEEN. IT ALSO HAS NOT GOT THE HORIZONTAL RIBBING. ANY IDEAS

AS YOU CAN SEE FROM PHOTOS IT HAS NO HORIZONTAL RIBBING WHICH THE MT1 HAS, THE FROG IS NOT DETACHABLE UNLIKE THE MT1 WHICH CAN BE REMOVED. IT IS ALSO 1" SMALLER AT THE OPENING THE ONLY THING IT HAS IN COMMON IS THE SIMMILAR SHAPE AND HEIGHT. CAN ANY ONE HELP. COULD IT BE AN ORIGINAL MATHEW AND TURNBUL VASE BEFORE DAVIDSON BOUGHT THE MOULD AND ADAPTED IT

It also looks narrower at the base, more flared rather than squat.

BTW all caps is considered to be the equivalent of shouting online, it's also hard to read.

Thanks for the tip on the caps ( hope they did not offend any one) find them easier to read when glasses are not to hand. By the way the base measures 2 3/8" approx. The colour is really stunning took pics in sunlight and it has done it justice. Still no further on maker though. HELP
