Hello, all ~ I'm Googled and eBayed out, looked in Lattimore, Canadian and Corning Museum books, this is a shape I haven't seen, note the high scallop at the handle that suggests a thumb rest. This isn't mine, nor are the pics.

Hi DoRi — I'm fairly certain I've not seen this one before.
Are there any words in the band around the head? If not, as you've suggested, it might not be Victoria. It could be her daughter Princess Louise, Marchioness of Lorne and Duchess of Argyll, commemorating her taking up residence in Ottawa as Mrs Governor General in 1878. Compare it with the following picture of her in Canada:-

The well known Greener commemorative is illustrated in Thompson, and shows a clear view of her. (Well known for commemorating not quite what was on the inscription.)
If it was commissioned locally, it might have been made in the USA!
... or someone else?

Hi, Bernard, long time! I spent a few hours on this today and just now opened Unitt's Treasury to look for something else and the book fell open to page 153. First book I've opened today and :o Spooky! There's what appears to be the same medallion and floral arrangement with the rose sprig under the medallion and Q.V. is facing right. This tapered jug is shown with a grouping of N.S. Victoria Commemoratives 1837-1867 I believe is a typo? (the other page says 1887), and the description says "Water Pitcher - half gallon single head - Medallion (not the same series). The form is different from the cream, but it looks like the same mold for the design. No lettering anywhere. DoRi
