Title: pink irridescent, opinions welcomed
Post by: gemmacler on June 02, 2008, 05:39:59 PM
HI ALL
I would welcome opinions on a vase I recently found, it is 6.5 inches high, pink ground, but if you look closely the pink is overlaid with a sort of gold crackle effect, then the streaks and spots are opaque silvery, and this seems to be on top of electric blue which outlines each spot. The blue shows up best on the base. Shallow dimple on base and pontil. polished flat. Rim is polished. There is wear on the footim which looks natural so I think the vase has a bit of age, quite heavy vase for its size, I really don't think this vase is modern, the question I am asking myself is where did it come from ? The colour values are not so good in my photos, it is pink rather than red. Wishing you all happy collecting.

I forgot to say where I am - I live in Wiltshire in the west of England [ UK ] I found my pink vase in my local area.

Hi there again
Here are some hopefully better pictures of mystery pink vase hoping for a suggestion, showing the colours more, I am still wondering if anybody could help me place it - it looks bohemian/czech, does anybody agree ?
regards
Gemma

Here we go put this item number into ebay 290234672643 I thought it was Royal Brierly but couldnt be sure. If you look very carefully into the iridescence on the base you will more than likely see the Acid etched Roral Brierly name.
