Hi Pamela, heres some more photos.I am in the UK oye mi canto is the name of a brilliant song by Gloria Estefan
-
I think Pamela meant the two seperate parts of the lamp, the base and then the figure.

I have actually seen this lamp (its twin) & know the dealer who had it. He was informed that it was Mueller from Germany, circa late 1920's. He sold the lamp on eBay & the buyer was from Germany (it was shipped internationally). Ken

Here is a photo of the two separate parts. Thanks for the info I knew the figure was Mueller but not quite sure of base.I used to have a really large round lamp base that had a raised central column then a large frog with holes that slotted into the well which also had this lady on top,was this Mueller aswell?
-
All I can say is that I've had the Mueller Lady (I believe there are two types) with the bowl & have seen the figurine used in one other type of glass lamp base so I would expect that Mueller also made the base. It would appear (my observation only) that these figurines while they may have been stand alone pieces they were also designed to be used as inserts in various bases. Perhaps I am mistaken, but thats my take on this. Ken

This lamp is shown on this pdf at Pressglas-Korespondenz http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/archiv/pdf/pk-2008-1-02w-mb-fuerstenberg-pressglas-1930.pdf (http://www.pressglas-korrespondenz.de/archiv/pdf/pk-2008-1-02w-mb-fuerstenberg-pressglas-1930.pdf)
It says "Kronentulpe (?)
Bild Sammlung Gäbel, aus Gäbel 2002, S. 96, Foto 40
SG: s. PK 2006-4, Exner, Tischlampe, Art Déco Lady mit „Bubikopf“
Glashütte „Germania“ Schweig, Müller & Co., Weißwasser
O.L., 1929"
So you know I just look at the pictures, someone will have to translate it! ;)

The black plinth on photo 028 looks rather like a Sowerby 2490, which is just possible as a UK wholesaler or retailer addition, as Sowerby sold their plinths separately, but unlikely. Note how the base of this example is quite different to the illustration in the PK material.
Where does the supply cable go?

The cable goes through a hole in the glass though there are gaps under the base where the cable would fit and there are grooves moulded inside the base for a fitting. The black plinth I used to elevate the lamp above my other pieces of glass it is a separate plinth. The pk pictures of the lamp show the lamp as it is the base is the base of the lamp not a separate plinth. I have 2 of these lamps and they are the same.
