Title: How to sell a damaged vase for good money
Post by: Frank on June 17, 2008, 09:03:21 AM

I presume it had a bruise in the base, and it might have dome better with bruise but whole instead of a hole.

So it's a vase with the base removed is it? LOL hmmm ... it does look like a bit of a weird shape for a lampshade.  I wonder if there's any danger of it breaking from the heat of the bulb if it was never made intending to be used in this way?

I don't think they annealed differently for their shades, seems to be an area they were somewhat challenged in. But it does look very silly.

No, still there. But it was one of these (http://www.ysartglass.com/Moncat/Images/SA.jpg) with a large circular and polished edge hole. The real thing had ground unpolished holes and looked like lampshades and fetch big money despite mostly having cracks around the hole.
