Title: Anybody have a clue who made this tri-handled amethyst vase?
Post by: Glasshound on August 11, 2005, 02:16:48 AM
Hi folks,

This one has me scratching my head...it's 7 inches tall, 6 inches wide with 3 applied handles and feet...there is some gilt on the rim and what remains of some gilt numbers on the pontil...the glass seems to be slightly iridized..possibly a one-off whimsey? The quality of the applied feet and handles look's like a fairly capable gaffer produced it...

any help would be appreciated!

I'd guess early (1900) Murano but could also be Webb, Sèvres or Kralik It is beautifully iridised, well made by a competent glass maker - this is no amateur at work.

I'm bumping this as Blair has so kindly provided replacement pictures.  :hiclp:  :fwr:  Does anyone recognise this gorgeous piece?
