Well, I missed getting this piece.   :cry:

Which in a way was good, as I can't actually afford what I bid up on it.  I thought I'd worry about that if I won it, as I wanted it so much.   :-\ :-[ I'm a bad girl!

I quickly found out it was by Walter Gilbert (if Google and Christies are to be believed) for Walsh Walsh.  Can anyone tell me what it was designed for?  Looks like it should have a home somewhere.

Furniture panel, window pane, part of an architectural installation... perhaps

Cool!  When would that have been made?  It says Deco, and looks Deco, but somehow I can imagine those crazy Victorians going for it, too.  Well, maybe not.

Probably from  a lighting panel made of several panels i sold one about ten years ago not that shape but did very well .

Thanks all.  :)  Wow, would have looked amazing lit up!  I was idly fantasising about making it into a window panel or something.  In reality it would have probably gathered dust somewhere until a cat broke it...   :ac1: :P ::)

More fun would be to incorprate into one of your artworks! Now that would cause frustration for glass collectors but also create an interesting dynamic.

Hi Max the one i had is in the British glass between the wars book page 67 -1929 lighting glass under the name Vesta glass,Egyptian Stork. When i acquired it i gave Eric Reynolds a call he was so excited it was the one panel he needed to complete a set,he took the overnight train from Devon i met him in London it had been raining he sat on a wet bench and was trembling while unwrapping it he wouldnt trust me to unwrap it he kept saying are you sure its the right one,it was. Off went Eric back to Devon a very happy man ,one of the nicest people you could wish to meet. In Erics book page 23 he shows a panel the twelve labours of Hercules.  Eric if you read this i hope you dont mind me telling our story, Regards and best wishes John.
