there are 8 plates matching this bowl all with pontil marks(http://)
-
No idea if it is but Woodward mentions in Edinburgh Crystal that "Reticella - decoration with threads or white or coloured glass embedded in clear cross and criss-crossing to form a filigree network." as being one of the specialities of Mr A Jenkinson’s Leith Walk Glass Works. c 1876. Obviously also a Venetian product.
Larger images and one of under base would be useful too.

I agree, it would be great to see bigger photos, and more of them. A couple photos of a plate would be nice, too. Very nice piece! Looks more modern than 19th C to me.

Is there a pontil scar? And has it been polished?
-
hi Frank
there is a pontil and if i run my finger across there is danger of cutting...this is on the plates...the bowl has a polished pontil and reason being that the item stands flat...whereas the plates are slightly concave.

ok so i have battled to take clearer pics...so outside pics take a better look see...

these are of the plate...last one pictures the reverse of plate and pontil mark
