Hi,
Looking for an I.D onthis lovely bowl, its 7.75inches long and 4.75 at its widest, the lower part appears to be a seagreen(ish?) colour merging into Cranberry at the top part and appears to be cased, there are no makers mark anywhere on it except signs of wear! it weighs in at 1.3kilos.
Any ideas would be very much appreciated
TIA
Cheers, John

Hard to tell from the pictures as they need to be a little sharper. Having said that, I'm not sure you would ever get a totally certain attribution from any pictures. It could be, at best, Seguso or Cenedese, or it could be a less famous Murano maker, or it could be modern Eastern Europe. There are differences in quality and in design, but they're hard to capture in a picture. The weight and wear are right for Murano, and the colours also seem appropriate.
As someone who has a few geodes, I've decided I'll probably never be sure of who made each of them. I've ended up trying to appreciate each of them on its own merits. Sorry, I realise that's not very helpful.
