Title: Are these Vallerysthal ?

Hi all, been away for a bit but getting back into my glass, anyway two lovely little glass boxes 4ins (10cm) long 1 1/2 ins (3cm) high.
At one time highly gilded and uv reactive, any ideas?

Sorry, Sue,
I followed (probably) the same route as my much respected, and loved, Pamela.
Vallerysthal/Portieux has not thrown up any answers....
You might wait a while, but we will find it one day.
(Probably tomorrow, judging by what happens the day after the Sklo Union text went to the publisher  ;D )

 :huh: not sure what you mean Pamela, Portieux cold decoration was extremely flamboyant, I have a colour catalogue. Lots of gold and over-natural colourings.

What are these called in French, catalogue to large to browse.

I think these are Dithridge & Co., late 1800s.

Sue, if these are Dithridge, as suggested, you might drop Shirley Smith a line.
If memory serves, I think she is a member of this board, and may have knowledge of Dithridge catalogues.

Thanks everyone for your input, and i now realise this what is called custard glass, the photo's make them look more white than the creamy yellowish colour they are.

Marcus and Galle i shall investigate Dithridge & Co, thank you.
Marcus i have no way of contacting Shirley Smith, do you?
