This description (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160238167107) is pure fantasy, or am I missing something?
-
No I don't think you're missing much these days. It is a pure fabrication - and the first instance of the word "Fallacy" in 20 years. It is also one of the ugliest vases I have ever seen - but that is not the point.
-
Too much of the amber nectar methinks or snorting the Ozzie snow. 8)
-
Is that one of those rare BS signature canes? ;)
-
Well, it does look a little like a bull...
-
It looks like one of the Chinese female form vases. Are those murrine ovaries? Maybe somewhere down the line -- 200 or 300 years -- the vase will be worth AU $200.

Read the feedback...

Anita
;D ;D
-
i just realise i misread fallacy for fallopian
-
yes, the feedback says it all about this seller

How lucky he is to have obtained so many of these rare Murano glass treasures!
-
To say nothing of the other treasures he's picked up at that Southern Highlands auction...
-
eBay has another one for sale by a different seller (Item 120285388726). It is $9.99 US plus a very high shipping amount. I feel bad for the person who paid $200 AU for this vase. I hope they don't go through with the deal.

I feel terrible for the poor sod thats bid $200.
I suppose there is no way he/she could be told without breaking any rules/laws ?
martin
"edit" Have you seen the buyers feedback, seems he/she has already had a bad experience !
-
The way that eBay is now, there is no way to contact bidders unless you know them or are the seller.
I think many of us made a lot of mistake purchases when we were first learning. I know that I did... Come to think of it, I still do. The big problem is that now my mistakes cost me a lot more money than my early ones did.

Higher education comes at a higher price ;)
I find the vase OK, a bit rough/hurried in execution but a nice concept.

... and on he goes - 370072974435. It's just so brazen. I'm going to report him.
Later: I can't believe the price he got for this (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/INCOMPARABLE-ANTIQUE-MURANO-GLASS-VASE-CIRCA-1925_W0QQitemZ160264195655QQihZ006QQcategoryZ994QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)!!! :o
-
Max <~goes to add 'wondrous' and 'incomparable' to her glass listings - it seems to do the trick! :o
-
Do you notice the way he never puts a picture of the base on his auctions ?

I don't know why this is, but I've seen lots of Chinese "Murano" glass selling well in Australia. The same fake pieces that are listed on US ebay, but in Australia they sell for $100 +.
-
Perhaps we should ask to see a base picture. He's been quite clever about by not selling the same piece twice too close together but I would say this one (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160258559914) and this one (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ENCHANTING-ANTIQUE-PASTEL-BLUE-MURANO-BOWL-CIRCA-1940S_W0QQitemZ160268984145QQihZ006QQcategoryZ994QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) were the same, even with the different photos
-
i agree, they do look like the same piece.
