Title: Heavy mould blown vase with squares - ID = Rudolfova Hut, Rudolf Jurnikl
Post by: Tigerchips on August 16, 2005, 01:23:21 PM
I've been told by a friend that this might be Czech.

It is almost 8 inches high and weighs 1460g. It looks as if it has been blown moulded and the base has been cut flat.

Any information would be welcome? Thanks.  :)

Pressed glass from Sklo Union Teplice, Rudolfova Hut, designed by Rudolf Jurnikl, 1969, and came in two sizes at least, there being a possibility this also came in a 6"/150mm size, this being the middle size.

Having looked back at Eduard Stopfer's excellent article, there appears to be a doubt emerging as regards the date of this piece. I have found a example of this vase, shown in a British American Glass Ltd (UK based importers) advertisement , in a trade journal dated 1964. That being so, this item must have been in production before 1969.
