Hi all
Take a look at this antique St Louis ! (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Antiq-St-Louis-Scattered-Millefiori-Paperweight-1840_W0QQitemZ160264611243QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160264611243)
Anyone seen an antique St Louis 4" diameter?? Looks all the world like a Murano to me !
Best regards

It is a very nice Murano, however. Love the aventurine in the twists.

................. and an unusual cane in the rosette - the one with the cross and 4 blue dots.

I've seen a few with canes like those in the rosette - I suspect they are from sometime in the the 1950 - 1980 period, as they do not seem to appear in weights made in the last 30 years. I think this one (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=2&campid=5335820906&toolid=10001&customid=&ext=320278779427&item=320278779427) is of the same sort of age.

I have always pegged these as second quarter 20th century and not later than 1950. Usually I see the 3rd quater weights having concentric white crimps rather than this style of cane.
